ADSSI Welcomes New Support at Home Start Date
ADSSI Limited welcomes the Australian Government’s decision to delay the start of the Support at Home program and the new Aged Care Act until 1 November 2025, providing additional time for aged care providers, participants, and communities to prepare for the upcoming aged care reforms.
As a proud member of Ageing Australia (formerly ACCPA), ADSSI supports the peak body’s recent statement, welcoming the revised timeline and encouraging providers to use this opportunity to strengthen readiness across the sector.
John Baillie, CEO of ADSSI Limited, welcomes the clarity that this announcement brings.
“This additional time gives us a valuable opportunity to prepare thoroughly and ensure we get these critical changes right.
“This is a once-in-a-generation reform, and we will continue to work closely with our dedicated staff, our wonderful participants, and our local communities to make sure Support at Home is implemented to strengthen in-home care for the long term”, Mr Baillie added.
ADSSI has already commenced significant work across its service brands, Adssi In-home Support, Beresfield Community Care, Dungog & District Neighbourcare, and Maitland Community Care Services, to build internal capacity, deliver staff training and help participants understand the future of aged care support.
There are no immediate changes to ADSSI’s current services. The home care group will continue providing the high-quality, local care clients rely on, while preparing with purpose for the reforms ahead. With renewed clarity on timing, ADSSI remains committed to ensuring its services, systems, and people are ready to support older Australians now and into the future.
